Task 1: Alternative Schools and Flipgrid
Escuela Libre Paideia
For this first task, we had to select an alternative school in order to investigate about it. I chose Escuela Libre Paideia that is located in Mérida, Badajoz (Spain). After doing some research, I recorded a video with a brief introduction to its method that is based in libertarian pedagogy. I found it quite interesting! However, resuming all the information I had in just one minute was quite difficult.
Flipgrid
After recording the video, I uploaded it to flipgrid. I had never worked with this platform before but I found it quite intuitive. When you first enter the site, it requires you to log in with your Google or Microsoft account. After that, the different topics –in our case just one for the moment– show up with the different responses of my classmates. I clicked the "add response" bottom and uploaded the video I took with my phone. Nonetheless, the platform itself allows you to record it from there so, in case you have a webcam in your computer or tablet, you could directly film it in the webpage! Moreover, you can even edit the video there, add a cover for your video, take a selfie as the cover or choose one frame from the video itself. Also, the possibility of leave comments on classmate's videos seems to work very well too.
To sum up, Flipgrid seems to me a very accesible webpage with a quite intuitive menu.
